How does opening 4 credit card offers affect my score?

April 9th, 2010

8 months ago, I had a FICO score of 719 and my wife had 721. In this time we have opened 4 zero percent credit card offers with no balance transfer fees. So whenever the 0% rate is going to expire, we move the balance to another card.

So since we have reduced our credit card balances 30%. Right now we are saving for a house to buy in January. Based on the information we have given, what will our score likely be? How many points are negatively affected by opening 4 new credit cards?
I guess I am looking for someone who knows the answer, not clowns who are making false assumptions.

Will my zero percent interest rate change by being 1 day late on my credit card payment?

April 8th, 2010

Okay, so I’ve had the credit card since April (1st card ever ) and have never been late on a payment ever. The card has zero percent interest for the fisrt year and I had left on my balance. The payment was due yesterday but it slipped my mind and I made the payment over the phone today, all . The lady told me that the company offers a one day, one time grace period for late payments and my payment made the cut off by a few hours (just in time to be posted by 12 tonight). She said she does not believe the company will charge me a late payment fee and/or raise my interest rate because of my good standing, but how sure of her should I be? Any advice for this kind of situation I am in? I can’t believe I missed it by one day and right now I feel like the world is over..j/k, but I am pretty stressed right now..

Does it hurt your credit to keep switching credit cards once the 0% interest is up?

April 7th, 2010

I have a credit card and the zero percent interest for a year is up at the end of this month. I want to transfer to another card that offered me zero percent for a year. Why wouldn’t I? Will it hurt my credit?
